Who we are

ReelBot is a movie discovery service available at reelbot.movie. This policy explains how we handle your information and how to contact us.

Information we collect

Account information: your email address, account identifier, optional display name and sign-in records. Supabase manages authentication. If you choose Google sign-in, we receive your basic profile information, including your name, email address, profile image and Google account identifier. We use it to create and authenticate your ReelBot account, not to access Gmail, Drive or your contacts.

Movie activity: saved, watched and excluded movies, preferences, recommendation requests and follow-up questions. Some guest preferences and recent activity stay in your browser; account movie lists are stored to sync across devices.

Feedback: the message and optional email you submit, the page URL and browser information. Usage and technical information: pages visited, product actions, session identifiers, device/browser information, performance and errors. Hosting and analytics providers may process IP addresses and approximate location.

How we use and share information

We use information to run accounts, personalize movie picks, sync your library, answer feedback, measure performance and protect the service. Authorized administrators can access account and activity information for support and administration.

Supabase provides authentication and storage; Vercel and Render host the service; OpenAI processes recommendation requests and relevant movie preferences; TMDB supplies movie data; Google Analytics and Vercel provide usage and performance analytics. Providers process information under their own applicable terms and policies. Please do not include sensitive personal information in movie requests.

Google account information is used for sign-in and account management. We do not sell it, use it for advertising or send it to OpenAI to train AI models. Other information may be disclosed when legally required, to protect users and the service, or as part of a transfer of the service subject to applicable law.

When you share a pick, its movie, request summary and recommendation explanation may be stored and visible to anyone with the link. Avoid including personal information in a pick you share. External streaming and other linked sites have their own privacy practices.

Cookies and browser storage

We use cookies or similar browser storage for sign-in, preferences, recent picks and usage measurement. Google Analytics uses cookies. Optional Google Analytics, Vercel usage/performance analytics and ReelBot product metrics stay off until you select Accept analytics. Reject analytics keeps them off. You can change or withdraw your choice using Cookie settings in the footer; withdrawal reloads the page to stop loaded analytics scripts. We remember your choice for up to six months. You can block cookies and tracking or clear stored information through your browser settings; this may affect sign-in and saved preferences.

Storage and your choices

Account information and movie lists are retained while your account exists. Feedback, shared picks, usage records and operational logs may remain until deleted; we do not currently apply one automatic deletion period to all records. Providers may retain backups and security records under their policies. Information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our providers operate.

You can update your profile, remove saved movies and delete your account in Account settings. Account deletion removes your account and associated account movie lists; separately submitted feedback, shared links, usage records and provider backups may remain. You can also revoke Google access in your Google Account settings.

To request access, correction or deletion of other personal information, use Feedback in the footer, select Something else, and include an email where we can reply. Depending on your location, you may have additional rights, including objection, restriction, portability or a complaint to your local privacy authority. We may need to verify your identity.

Children, security and changes

ReelBot is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us through Feedback so we can investigate and remove it. We use access controls and secure connections, but no online service can guarantee complete security.
