Overview

Once upon a time, there was the center of the world. A city so famous and so powerful that the world seemed to revolve around it. Between the 8th century BCE and the 4th century CE, Delphi was one of the jewels of the ancient world. This mythical sanctuary owed its fame to the renowned Pythia, a woman with extraordinary powers whom people from all over ancient Greece came to consult. Forgotten for nearly 1,500 years, the sanctuary at Delphi was rediscovered by French archaeologists in the early 20th century. For the past 130 years, the French School of Athens has been conducting regular excavations at the site. In 2025, a large-scale excavation campaign yielded new information that now makes it possible to reconstruct Delphi in 3D. This 3D model reveals the secrets of this city, which was once considered the center of the world.
